Since Gojo published our first impact report in 2020, we have grappled with what impact really means and how to demonstrate it. Individual success stories and high-level numbers such as the percentage of rural or female clients do not give satisfactory answers to the question: what has changed, and how?
To be accountable for our impact, we need transparent, standardised impact reporting. To increase our impact, we need to develop our understanding of the complex, non-linear ways in which change happens through financial services.
In this webinar, we will discuss the trade-offs involved in understanding and reporting impact and the importance of exploring the reality behind data points such as client satisfaction and income. We will share key insights from our 2022 July Impact Report and initial learnings from the financial diaries projects in Cambodia, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.
