Gojo & Company, Inc. (“Gojo”) is pleased to announce that it increases its ownership in JSC Renesans mikromoliya tashkiloti (“Renesans”), a microfinance institution in Uzbekistan, from 9.8% to 19.8%. This follows Gojo’s initial investment in July 2025, and reflects Gojo’s growing confidence in Renesans’ operational excellence and the rapidly expanding economic potential of Uzbekistan’s financial inclusion sector.
The transaction combines a primary capital investment to support its next phase of digital and physical expansion, alongside a secondary transaction that provides a partial exit for the founders of Renesans.
As of March 2026, Renesans serves 15,634 active clients across 43 branches (including sub-branches), with a Gross Loan Portfolio of USD 22 million.
As Gojo increases its ownership, CJSC Humo Bank (“Humo”), its group company in Tajikistan, works together with Renesans to improve its operations. Based on their expertise in banking business, digital capabilities and deep understanding of the region, Humo supports Renesans as it advances to the next stage of its development.
Mirlaziz Salikhovich Umarov, Chief Executive Officer of Renesans
"We are thrilled to receive this further endorsement and investment from Gojo. This transaction not only provides our founding shareholders with a well-deserved partial liquidity event after years of dedication, but more importantly, it injects vital primary capital into our business. With these fresh resources, we are well-positioned to accelerate our strategic initiatives, upgrade our technological offerings, and expand our reach to thousands of unbanked and underbanked clients across the country."
Firdavs Mayunusov, General Director of Humo
"When Gojo first explored the Uzbek microfinance market three years ago, it stood out as a country with significant, still-untapped growth potential. Through our collaboration with Gojo and our analysis of the local market, Renesans was identified as an institution whose business model, mission, values, and corporate governance closely aligned with those of the Gojo Group. In line with our collaboration plans, Humo will continue to deepen its partnership with Renesans, creating opportunities for knowledge sharing, operational synergies, and the continued development of both institutions."
GRATA International acted as legal adviser to Gojo for this transaction.
